There's nothing like wintertime in Colorado! With so many incredible outdoor activities and attractions—Ice Castles, dog-sledding tours, and lots of skiing/snowboarding—you're bound to have an incredible winter season! But allow us to add another must-see event to your list: the International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge.

This snow sculpture competition is world-famous and sees teams from all over to "hand-carve 25-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art." When Is the International Snow Sculpture Championships?

The 2024 International Snow Sculpture Championships take place from January 22–31 in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Is the Competition Free to Attend? Or Do I Need to Purchase Tickets?

The event is completely free and open to the public to attend. No ticket purchases are necessary.

However, it is important to note that the weekend of viewing (Friday, January 26—Sunday, January 28) is always a popular time to attend. To make sure guests and sculptures alike have a fun and safe time, there will be timed-entry reservations required on Saturday, January 29. There's no cost to sign up, but spaces are limited.

There will be 12 teams vying for the gold this year, and they are as follows:
