COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) - A familiar face to fans of the South Carolina Gamecocks will make a special appearance on “College GameDay” this weekend.

The ESPN program announced Friday that South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley will be this week’s guest picker on Saturday. The show will air live in Columbia as the Gamecocks host the LSU Tigers at noon.

Staley has won three national titles with the Gamecocks, including the most recent one in 2024. She’s also a multi-time Naismith Coach of the Year.

Staley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013 for both her coaching and playing career, in which she was a 6-time WNBA All-Star and was on multiple iterations of Team USA’s women’s basketball team.
