KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The clouds and the sun are battling for the sky today which will continue through tomorrow. We will top out in the upper 30s for most areas but the further south you go temperatures could reach into the low 40s! The pattern remains mostly quiet for this weekend other than a cold front sweeping through overnight bringing cooler temperatures for tomorrow just in time for the game!

Sunday afternoon highs will be in the mid-30s with some sun and clouds. If you are heading out to Arrowhead for the game, the wind chill values will be close to the actual temperatures, which is good for anyone planning to hang outside for the day.

Heading into next work week, a rigid will be in place over the Midwest allowing temperatures to warm up super nice. We are talking 10-15 degrees above average on Tuesday, with highs we haven’t seen since last December! Monday through Wednesday will be the best days to be outside with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s with plenty of sunshine.

On Thursday, slightly cooler air fills the area with highs dropping to the low 40s with some clouds.

The next big system we are watching is heading into next weekend. We do have a First Warn in place on Friday as a potential winter system could move in. I say “potential” because it will depend on the placement of the low pressure to determine if we get wintry mix/snow or if it will be too warm and we’ll just receive rain.

One model is showing a mixture of rain/snow/sleet as temperatures will be above the freezing mark throughout the daytime hours. The other long-range model is showing mostly rain with a change over to snow/sleet for only a few hours. We will continue to watch this system over the next week and bring you more information.
