Get your sushi burrito fix at one of these Denver restaurants!

Sushi burritos are a super fun and trendy take on the classic sushi roll. Though I've only heard of them in recent years, sushi burritos were actually invented back in 2008. There is so much innovation with food these days, which is one reason that makes food culture so appealing to me.

And it has become increasingly popular for restaurants to hop on trends such as sushi burritos, and today, we are going to talk about a few Denver spots where you can find them:

Motomaki

Motomaki has locations in Boulder, Lakewood, and Denver. They serve up sushi burritos, as well as bowls, poke, family meals, and more! When you look at their menu, you will see that bowls and big rolls are in the same section. At Motomaki, you can choose whether you want these meals as a sushi burrito or a bowl. Some of the options for bowls and rolls include Curry Salmon, Shrimp Tempura, and even Kalua Pork. Vegetarians can enjoy a sushi burrito too, as they also serve Crispy Eggplant and Mean Green bowls or rolls. I find myself drawn to the Nacho Tuna, which is filled with spicy tuna, tempura asparagus, cucumber, mango salsa, guacamole, crispy onions, sour cream, and sriracha aioli.

Corner Poke

This spot is located in Englewood, and their menu includes poke, sushi rolls, bento boxes, sushi burritos, and more! They have lots of menu items with fun names, including an appetizer called the "Heart Attack." Some of their sushi burritos include the Amazing Burrito, Dragon Burrito, and Corner Poke Burrito. The Corner Poke Burrito comes with chicken tempura, Masago, spicy crab meat, fried onion, avocado, and crispy garlic with spicy aioli. Although we don't often think of fried chicken when we think of sushi, I have to admit—this sounds incredible.

Sushi Box

Sushi Box, located in Longmont, serves a variety of Asain cuisine, including both Thai and Japanese food. One of their menu items is, of course, sushi burritos. I'm particularly interested in their Soft Shell Crab and Salmon Tempura Sushi Burrito. This includes soft shell crab, salmon tempura, cucumber, avocado, crab meat, and special sauces. For dessert, they offer mango with sticky rice and coconut milk.

Sushirito

This spot is located in Loveland and comes from the same owner behind Sushi Box, Patcharin Nilabon. Sushirito just opened this year! They offer many of the same options as Sushi Box, and more! Don't forget dessert. At Sushirito, you can find Boba Ice Cream, which sounds so fun!

Poke Story

Poke story opened in 2017 and is located in Centennial. They aim to create food that is both healthy and delicious, as well as offer a fun and different experience overall. You have the option of creating custom bowls and burritos or ordering a signature bowl. I visited this spot on my lunch break one day and ordered a poke bowl with a side of miso soup. Next time, I'm hoping to try one of their sushi burritos and their Taiyaki soft serve.
