Mile High United Way has created volunteer roles anyone can do from the comfort of their own home.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 may have taken away our ability to leave our homes, but in no way can it take away our ability to be kind to others. Mile High United Way has created several different avenues to get involved in the Denver area—all online. Since no one is going anywhere these days, you may as well consider taking a break from Netflix and helping out where you can. If the Quarantine Blues are getting to you, there's no better remedy than to get involved in the service of others.

Volunteer positions include answering calls at the 2-1-1 Call Center, spreading virtual cheer, virtual pen pals to senior citizens, and many others. It may seem impersonal, but in these days of social distancing, it's all we have now to reach out to those in need. Volunteer work such as this is an excellent distraction and helps break up the monotony of going from the living room to the kitchen and back again. Click HERE to find the volunteer position that's right for you.

In all seriousness, it's important to stay busy right now. The opportunities for community service, learning, personal growth, and maybe even a few new friendships are at your fingertips. Best of all, knowing that you are doing good for those who need it will give you a much-needed dose of mood-boosting endorphins, something we could all benefit from.
