Embrace Romance This Season

Winter is a magical season to celebrate love. The snow and cold provide the perfect setting for getting cozy and snuggling up with your love (and shredding together). It's also the season Valentine's Day takes place! Here in Colorado, there are many amazing scenic places to enjoy a romantic winter getaway. Let's look at some of the best Colorado towns to turn up the heat with your partner this winter.

Aspen

Aspen is a gorgeous Colorado mountain town that absolutely shines in the winter. Hit one (or all) of the four ski resorts for a classic Colorado couple experience, and then stroll around the charming town. You've got to swing by Hotel Jerome for a cocktail. Maybe you even want to book your stay there! Romantic dinner options include Betula, Cache Cache, and Elinna.

Estes Park

Estes Park offers an enchanting escape for couples seeking a romantic getaway near one of America's most iconic and beautiful national parks. Imagine waking up in a charming lodge surrounded by stunning mountain views, perfect for slowing down and savoring peaceful morning coffee. For lodging, consider options like the Stanley Hotel, known for its historic charm and impressive architecture (also perfect for spooky lovers), or the Romantic RiverSong Inn, where you can enjoy cozy fireplaces and private hot tubs. Estes Park invites you to breathe in the crisp alpine air, explore scenic trails, and share unforgettable moments with your love in one of Colorado's most picturesque locations. Cozy up at SEASONED - An American Bistro for delightful menu options that reflect the season.

Telluride

Telluride is a bit more of a quiet town, making it perfect for a romantic winter getaway. Naturally, the skiing here is also incredible. And as I've mentioned before, there's something really special about the San Juans. For a ski-in/ski-out hotel, try Camel's Garden Hotel. Another lovely option is the Madeline Hotel & Residences. And if you aren't skiing, you can still take the beautiful scenic gondola ride!

Ouray

Dreaming of a romantic trip to Europe but unable to travel overseas? Look no further than Ouray. Known as the "Switzerland of America," this charming mountain town will transport you to a romantic alpine scene without leaving the country. Like Telluride, this small town also sits among the San Juan Mountains. Ouray's stunning landscapes are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful escape. Explore the fascinating Ice Park, offering a chance to try ice climbing—even for beginners. Relax and unwind in the rejuvenating Ouray Hot Springs, offering romantic views of the snow-capped peaks. Consider staying at the Beaumont Hotel & Spa for mountain luxury. When it's time to eat, enjoy creative cuisine at Brickhouse 737

Palisade

Wine is probably one of the most romantic beverages out there. Palisade is Colorado's wine country, so this could be the perfect place to take your significant other for a romantic winter getaway. Book a stay at the Wine Country Inn for a truly immersive experience. Don't forget to pick up some bottles to savor back home as you reminisce about your romantic winter adventure. Although it's technically in Grand Junction, Moody's Lounge isn't too far from Palisade. Head to this speakeasy-inspired lounge for all the romantic vibes.

Vail/Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek or Vail might be the perfect spot if you're looking for a luxurious and romantic winter getaway. These two neighboring towns offer upscale lodging options like the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch (which also has a lively après scene) or The Arrabelle at Vail SquareDine at The Left Bank in Vail, and check out Splendido at the Chateau in Beaver Creek. Skiing is amazing in these resort towns, but I slightly prefer Beaver Creek because it has fewer crowds (and free cookies).

Steamboat Springs

Steamboat Springs is perfect for couples looking to combine adventure and relaxation. Known for its famous champagne powder snow, this destination offers thrilling ski and snowboarding opportunities. After a day on the slopes, soothe yourselves in the Strawberry Park Hot Springs. The Steamboat Grand provides romantic lodging, complete with cozy fireplaces and stunning mountain views. I highly recommend dining at Besame, an absolutely delicious Latin fusion restaurant.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs is a charming winter destination for couples seeking both adventure and relaxation. This small town offers a lovely romantic vibe and fun activities nearby. CO. Ranch House is a fantastic spot for dinner, with its cozy atmosphere and delicious food. For lodging, check out The Hotel Colorado, a historic hotel that encourages you to "enjoy life at a slower pace." Don't forget to soak in Iron Mountain Hot Springs, one of our favorite hot spring destinations in Colorado!

Colorado offers an array of romantic winter getaways, each providing opportunities for adventure, relaxation, and memorable experiences. Romance blooms amidst natural beauty and cozy accommodations, providing the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable vacation. Allow yourself to be enchanted by the pristine landscapes, luxurious amenities, and the warmth of shared moments in Colorado's breathtaking destinations.
