It's impossible to leave Aspen off this list. My boyfriend and I have been there together multiple times we always have an amazing time. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and perfect for a romantic getaway. You can also stay in Glenwood Springs, another cute mountain town less than an hour away with more affordable lodging. With that money you saved you can ball out on the iconic après at Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro at the Aspen Highlands resort. Get a taste of the European alpine culture, without leaving the States! With delicious food options, champagne, and a DJ, all on the mountain with insane views, this costly après is an awesome experience to have with your partner. I have yet to go (I repeat, it's expensive), but it's definitely on the list! You can only get to it if you're skiing or boarding and you should be at least an intermediate rider, so we're going for very exclusive vibes here.
Or, for a different experience, you could splurge even more on a snowcat dinner, where you will be transported to and from Cloud Nine on a snowcat. The cuisine is described as Swiss and Continental. The town of Aspen itself is a great place to walk around and has plenty of fun shopping, art galleries, and dining options.
