Totsville in Glen Burnie has many of the same pieces of equipment you will find at any indoor playground, but they also have a huge sandbox.
If you're a parent to some beach babies who simply cannot wait to get out in the sand, you are counting the minutes till summer. Totsville is an indoor playground with a unique twist that could fill this void: they have a massive sandbox inside the building. They also have other fun equipment to keep kids up to age 8 entertained.

For the Kids
This playground packs a lot into the space. There are essentially three sections to the play area: a tots area, a free play area, and the sandbox.
Tots Area
This area is enclosed to keep the littles safely separated from the bigger kids.

Main Play Area
This area is dominated by the two-story climbing structure.
- A trampoline-style bouncer

- Airsoft style “gun” that shoots balls into an enclosed area
There are also some smaller toys (like a little slide, huge blocks, and a huge keyboard you can play with your feet) in the open area beside the structure.

Sandbox Area
A highlight for most kids who come here, the sandbox is separated from the rest of the building by a baby gate, and there are tools to brush the sand off before you leave the area. The sand is super-soft and silica-free, and there are lots of sand toys to play with. Measuring at 20'x20', the sandbox itself offers room for lots of kids, and there is a bubble machine above that occasionally goes off.
For the Parents
Totsville offers a good amount of seating around the various play areas, including in the sandbox area. A small “cafe area” features tables and a Keurig, or you can perch yourself at the ledge around the wall of windows on the outside.
Safety is obviously key here, as all of the floors are soft, either with carpets or foam flooring, and all of the metal parts of the equipment are covered. The play area is also separated from the register area by a baby gate, so you can rest easy knowing your little one won't be able to make a run for the door.
There are two bathrooms inside the play area, as well as a water fountain and the ability to purchase assorted drinks and snacks.
Finally, you're inside, so you wouldn't think the sun would be a problem, but you'd be only half-right. Sometimes the sun hits that perfectly wrong angle and all those windows, and the building heats up considerably, especially the sandbox area.

Other Considerations
- There is an open lot out front and a nearby garage, so parking is not usually a problem here.
- Occasionally they reach their occupancy maximum and have to limit people to a two-hour stay.
- There have recently been some coin-operated toys added, which can be an issue for some parents (after paying admission, having pay-to-play enticements might cause a headache if your kiddo gets attached).
- They often run Groupons for admission, but Totsville mandates a 24-hour hold on using them after you buy them.
